Enable Japanese Language Support

The guide below shows how to enable full Japanese language support for the various supported operating system versions.

Select your operating system version:

Microsoft Windows XP

1. Insert your Windows XP CD into the CD ROM drive.
2. Open Control Panel, click "Regional and Language Options".
3. Click the "Languages" tab.
4. Click to select the "Install files for East Asian languages" checkbox.
5. Click OK. The system will install the necessary files and then you will need to restart your computer.

Microsoft Windows 2000

1. Insert your Windows 2000 CD into the CD ROM drive.
2. Open Control Panel, click "Regional Options".
3. Click the "General" tab.
4. Under "Language Settings for the system", click to select the "Japanese" checkbox.
5. Click Apply. The system will install the necessary files. When prompted to restart Windows, click No.
6. Click the Input Locales tab, click Add. Select Japanese. Then Set as Default.
7. Click OK and restart your computer.
