Enable Japanese Language Support
The guide below shows how to enable full Japanese language support for the various supported operating system versions.
Select your operating system version:
Microsoft Windows XP
- Insert your Windows XP CD into the CD ROM drive.
- Open Control Panel, click "Regional and Language Options".
- Click the "Languages" tab.
- Click to select the "Install files for East Asian languages" checkbox.
- Click OK. The system will install the necessary files and then you will need to restart your computer.
Microsoft Windows 2000
- Insert your Windows 2000 CD into the CD ROM drive.
- Open Control Panel, click "Regional Options".
- Click the "General" tab.
- Under "Language Settings for the system", click to select the "Japanese" checkbox.
- Click Apply. The system will install the necessary files. When prompted to restart Windows, click No.
- Click the Input Locales tab, click Add. Select Japanese. Then Set as Default.
- Click OK and restart your computer.
